The hair growth cycle

If electrolysis is permanent, why do I need more than one session? Well, the answer to this question is because of the way our hair grows.

Hair growth occurs in cycles, and each cycle consists of four main phases; anagen, catagen, telogen and exogen. In each phase, the follicle and the hair within that follicle is doing something slightly different, as shown in the diagram below,

With all this in mind, we can answer the question asked at the beginning of this post. We need to catch each hair during in the anagen phase for electrolysis to be most effective, and since not all visible hairs are in that desirable phase, it may mean the hair needs to be treated again.
